Safety Concerns

We understand that you may have safety concerns this year when buying toys for your children. Please know that we only purchase products that have been thoroughly tested by their manufacturer.

Toy Manufacturers follow certain safety guidelines and label most new toys for specific age groups. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) closely monitors and regulates all toys. Any toys made in — or imported into — the United States after 1995 must comply with CPSC standards. If you have any concerns regarding these laws- visit www.cpsc.gov . The CPSC site will provide you with a list of product recalls and will also answer questions concerning the safety product standards.

Perhaps the most important thing a parent can do is to supervise play. Always read labels to make sure a toy is appropriate for a child's age. Guidelines published by the CPSC and other groups can help make those buying decisions easier. You may think that a child who's advanced in comparison to peers can handle toys meant for older kids. But the age levels for toys are determined by safety factors, not intelligence or maturity.

Stay Informed: Concerned parents & caregivers can go to www.cpsc.gov/cpsclist.aspx to sign up to receive an e-mail alert when a new product recall is made public.
